No, WPBakery does not offer a free license.

Starting from October 2017 Visual Composer Page Builder plugin for WordPress has been renamed to WPBakery Page Builder. These changes will not affect any further updates of the plugin and customers who purchased Page Builder in the past will be able to receive WPBakery Page Builder updates with no extra charge.

Does WPBakery Page Builder work with any WordPress theme?

WPBakery Page Builder works with all properly coded themes without any problems. What does "properly coded theme" means? There is an official WordPress codex developed which states rules which need to be followed when you develop your WordPress theme. If you have developed your theme according to WordPress codex then there is no problem in using WPBakery Page Builder there.

This error message typically appears when using an American Express card during the checkout process. To resolve this issue, we suggest using a Visa, Mastercard, or PayPal instead.

Where can I find my purchase code/license key?

WPBakery Page Builder license can be overviewed and managed by visiting WPBakery Support Portal – support.wpbakery.com. Once you activate WPBakery Page Builder you will be automatically redirected to Support Portal in order to choose/approve license you want to activate.

Why can't I find my purchase confirmation email?

I cannot update my license after site has been migrated to live

In order to update be able to update your license after the site has been migrated to live, you need to manually update the plugin to the latest version, and then reactivate the license on the live site:

Is there a separate license available for a staging site?

No, the same license that is used for the live site can also be used on a staging site without needing to activate it.

Is there a license or plan available to use the plugin on multiple sites?

Does WPBakery Page Builder work with Gutenberg?

On 7’th of June 2018, WPBakery released an update 5.5 that features a compatibility between the page builder and Gutenberg editor. If you have WPBakery version 5.5 or later installed, you will notice 2 options related to the Gutenberg editor:

I keep getting this error: “The plugin does not have a valid header”

Please make sure to unzip the original file that you’ve downloaded. Inside of it, you’ll find documentation and plugin .zip file, that should be uploaded to your site. According to WordPress plugin installation instructions.

I’m trying to install WPBakery Page Builder, but WordPress is saying “The package could not be installed. No valid plugins were found.”

When installing WPBakery Page Builder I get error:”Fatal error: Cannot redeclare … (previously declared in …)”

It may be so that there is already an instance of WPBakery Page Builder installed on your WP site (WPBakery Page Builder has been included in your theme). In order to install standalone default WPBakery Page Builder version, you should contact your WP theme author in order to get step-by-step information on how to remove in-built WPBakery Page Builder version from your WP site and install default WPBakery Page Builder without losing extra functionality that may be added by your WP theme author.

There’s a new version of WPBakery Page Builder available, how can I get it and update it on my site?

Visit WP Dashboard -> WPBakery Page Builder -> Product License and activate your license by linking with WPBakery Support Portal – support.wpbakery.com. After that, you will be able to use automatic WordPress updating mechanism (with an active support tenure). When a new version of WPBakery Page Builder will be available, you should click “Update WPBakery Page Builder now” link under WPBakery Page Builder in WP Dashboard->Plugins page.

When trying to update I receive message ‘Update Package not available’

I can not use WPBakery Page Builder on Posts and Custom Posts

Under WP Dashboard -> WPBakery Page Builder -> Role Manager ensure that your user role has all Post Types available. Choose Custom in Post Types for user role and mark all post types where you want to use WPBakery Page Builder. Note: You need to be Administrator to be able to control user role access.

In short – yes. There are few steps and rules you should be aware of before integration process. First one is that you need to purchase the extended license for each theme you want to enhance with WPBakery Page Builder . The second that you need to receive approval from WPBakery on using WPBakery Page Builder in your theme – you can do it via WPBakery Support Portal – support.wpbakery.com – by converting Extended License into In-Stock License. Can I use WPBakery Page Builder on several WordPress sites (Multisite/Developers license)?

The plugin offers 5 sites and 10 sites licenses which allows using it on up to 5 and 10 sites respectively.

Can I insert 3rd party shortcodes?

Yes. In the WYSIWYG editor, you can insert [shortcodes] as usual. Basic scenario: Insert Text Block from Content Elements section, click Edit button and in the editor, enter your shortcode or place it between existing text content.

Can I add my own shortcodes sets?

In short – Yes. Please check advanced documentation file (this is something that should be done by php developer). Or if you are not so familiar with PHP/WP coding, check our new Shortcode Mapper under the WP Dashboard -> WPBakery Page Builder -> My Shortcodes section.

I have a layout that I created with WPBakery Page Builder and now I want to "clone" it for use on the other page/post, how can I do that?

Great question! You can create a "Template" and then insert it on any other page. Here's how:

When adding Image Filter I receive error: "Error while applying filter to the image. Check your server and memory settings."

Can I link to specific row of my layout?

Starting from WPBakery Page Builder version 4.5 there is an option to add ID to Row which can be used as an anchor pointer when creating a link.

Can I change element default values?

Starting from WPBakery Page Builder version 4.7 you can control default element values with Element Presets controls. In addition, it is possible to create Element Presets which can be quickly applied to an element. Element Preset controls are located in Element Parameter Window under “gear” icon in the upper right corner. Can I link to external images?

Starting from WPBakery Page Builder version 4.7 Single Image and Image Gallery elements allows choosing Image Source and specify External Image. External images can be added to via elements by entering direct link or list of links (for Image Gallery) to specific images.

Can I save part of the page as a template?

Starting from WPBakery Page Builder version 5.0 you can save row and section as a template. Navigate to row or section param window and under settings select ‘Save as template’. For more detailed information visit Templates section of the knowledge base.
